DONALD M. GERSON, CPA
With a career spanning more than three decades in
public accounting, Donald M. Gerson has knowledge and experience in a wide range
of industries including real estate, retail, professional services, trusts and
estates and not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Gerson graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Florida in 1961. Before joining
Gerson, Preston, Robinson & Company in 1977, he gained nearly 10 years
experience with other Florida firms. During that time, his practice was focused in
the areas of audited and unaudited financial statements and tax return
preparation for public and private companies, personal income tax planning and review.
He provides accounting services to large construction and real estate
development companies, including percentage of completion determinations.
Mr. Gerson consults with clients regarding business and investment activities, and is active in sophisticated tax return preparation
at the federal, state and international levels. His administrative
responsibilities include maintaining procedural control within the organization, and he has instituted a framework for the periodic review of
staff work and the efficacy of firm results.
Mr. Gerson is a member of both the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He and his wife, Sandy, have
five grown children and six grandchildren.
